Evening

The saying goes: ‘Eat breakfast like a King, lunch like a Queen and dinner like a Prince.’ In our case a Merchant Prince.

The Merchant Princes of 19th century Cork built their houses in order to watch their trade goods being loaded and unloaded. In the evening they would enjoy a meal prepared with a combination of local produce and imported delicacies. At the Montenotte Hotel, we endeavour to provide you with much the same experience, carefully selecting our ingredients from local artisans and markets, in a setting that befits a prince, as you watch the lights coming on across the city below.

Panorama Terrace

Whether you choose a flute of champagne or a freshly brewed coffee, there is no better place to sit and enjoy Cork’s most scenic vista than the Panorama Terrace at the Montenotte Hotel. The beauty of the River Lee, the maritime activity at Port of Cork and the stunning cityscape of Cork is on view for our hotel guests and visitors from our unique 6-metre open air, covered balcony adjoining the bistro and bar of the Montenotte Hotel. From dawn to nightfall, the stunning, ‘moving picture’ changes as the day progresses, matching the ambiance of the Panorama Terrace.

Her campaign to make Mother's Day a recognized holiday in the United States began in 1905 as she wanted to tribute her mother by continuing the work she started and to set aside a day to honour all mothers because she believed a mother is "the person who has done more for you than anyone in the world".
